Day 2

Start - at 11 AM - Breakfast - at 9AM

Our firs day of horseback tour starts from the village of Omalo, We will see the village in Shenako and the 19th-century cross-type church.

In Diklo we will see the village and Old Diklo as well as the fortress. The only way to get to this structure, which is fused with the rock and located on a steep slope, is the narrow path located on the south. It was the fortress and residence place as well at the same time. Very little indeed remained of the old glory due to the enemies and time, but based on the ruins, walls, towers, and the fractured fence it seems to be a well-built and strong building. Thanks to the steep slopes, the castle is almost impossible to reach. The dry-stone walling principle even nowadays makes visitors enthusiastic. Diklo was the most outlying village, and the fortress, with its strategic location, split the role of the gorge guard. This gorge made it possible to communicate with Dagestan, which in many cases was not good-neighborly.

Around 2 PM we will have a lunch in Diklo in our guesthouse. After lunch and little break we will visit to Old Diklo fortress - here you will need your passport, because Old Diklo is a border place with Russia and we need passes from the border guards.
